Story
We were bowled over by the support we received form family, friends and colleagues for the February St Luke’s 100k appeal, so decided when asked to run a whole Marathon for them, why not! This is a charity close to all our hearts, they have done a lot for people we love over the years, and have been there for close friends of the St Oswalds family. Please give what you can, fundraising is massively down for charities, off the back of COVID-19 they have a lot of catching up to do. They need our support more than ever right now. Give a little, give a lot, We will all be running and updating across the next couple of month and are using the converted Chester triple to help train. Keep a look out across our social media, how we are getting on and our own personal reasons for attempting this frankly daft distance of 26.2 miles
Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness. We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
