We raise awareness of ill mental health to ensure no-one suffers alone.

Story

In April I will be running the Brighton Marathon for The Lucy Rayner Foundation in memory of Justin Lariviere. Last year Justin took his own life, he was just 25 years old.

Justin was my neighbour and I was the first person to find him after he died. Although I will never forget that morning, my experience is nothing compared to what Justin went through and the grief endured by his family and friends.

Justin was a quiet and caring man, and his loss is a tragedy. Unfortunately, suicide in young men remains a major problem in society, particularly as there continues to be a stigma attached to men talking about their mental health.

I am raising money for the Lucy Rayner Foundation as they are a wonderful charity that seek to promote awareness of the signs and symptoms of mental health issues in young people. Not only do they provide support for individuals experiencing challenges, but also their loved ones.

Any donation to The Lucy Rayner Foundation will be a fitting tribute to Justin’s memory.
