1,500m swim / 40km bike / 10km run
On the 23rd of July I am doing my first ever Triathlon event in London which consists of a 1500m swim in the freezing Thames, 40km cycle around London and to finish a 10km run. This challenge is defiantly not going to be easy!
Why am I putting my self through this pain??
Over the last 6 months I have lost 4 stone of weight through intense dieting and gruelling exercise. This challenge is the final part of my journey from fat to fit.
Rather than just compete for my self I wanted to support a great cause. Fortunately my cousin James is out in South Sudan working for the charity Concern Worldwide. They are currently distributing urgent food supplies to the woman and children in the most hard to reach locations affected by the famine. Having heard the stories from my cousin first hand I feel deeply moved to make sure we do all we can to help Concern to improve the situation and end the famine now. I trust that Concern will use the money I raise to Achieve this.
Thank you for reading and I hope you will be there to cheer me on at the finish line.
