Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have never been a natural runner, at school whilst being fully committed to sport, I was uninterested and always at the back of the pack whenever it came to cross country or track running. I was neither fast, nor endurance fit. I would've gone as far as to say I hated running.
In my later life, sparked in the 1st covid lockdown, I found running a great release and loved running through central London whilst there was no one on the streets. I focussed mainly on 5 and 10km distances, trying to improve my time and got to the stage where I ran a half marathon on a bit of a whim..... I've never run further than this.
Whilst my running has improved, I am still neither particularly fast, nor super fit, but I now enjoy the mental challenge of pushing through something I am frankly quite poor at. I have always had a marathon itch to scratch despite it always feeling unachievable and thankfully the NSPCC have given me the chance in 2024, for which I am very grateful. I am confident I will run it well and achieve a time to be proud of. Hopefully this can be the start of many mentally challenging journeys I decide to take on.
The NSPCC is such a great cause and one of the most well know charities in the UK, they are also the charity partner of the company I work for, Lidl, where I celebrate 10 years this year... all feels very apt.
Thanks for all and any donations, no matter how big or small, see you at the finish line.
