Story
Last September 2020 I lost my nan Joyce she was 96 and had Alzheimer's ( Dementia) It was hard for myself and my family to live with knowing she wasn't the happy, smiley, cheery Mother and Grandmother we knew and it was sad seeing her slowly deteriorate She moved into a Care home last March in which the staff were just amazing from the beginning to the end even with the difficult challenges faced with COVID 19 and due to restrictions and lockdowns. The staff took photos , kept their Facebook page updated and sent e-mails to us as we couldnt visit. So a big thank you to all the staff. So this March I will be doing my own Memory Walk for Alzheimer's UK in memory of Nanny Joyce and also the amazing Dame Barbara Windsor. by walking 7 miles from Cowes Yacht Haven to Arreton Barns in Arreton Isle of Wight with your help whether its £1 or £5 I would like to try and raise £500 for Alzheimer's UK and help find a cure to finally make this horrible disease disappear.
Thank you
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
