Our whole family are huge fans of the Ocala Public Library. Our children developed their life-long love of reading thanks to talented children's librarians who instilled in them a love of reading that has carried them to great success in school and life.

We have utilized the library for entertainment and education. In addition to traditional library books, we are huge users of digital assets like e-books and audio books. 

When we visit the library, we see the many other ways libraries benefit our community -- people looking for jobs, conducting genealogy research, learning about hobbies, doing their taxes, and many other activities.

The Friends of the Ocala Public Library supports dozens of programs every year, provides continuing education scholarships to library employees, and advocates for libraries at the local, state and national level. Participating in this Read-A-Thon is our way of supporting them in this work.
