Like my Dad and Mum, who for 25 years ran a specialised childrens home to give a chance to the most emotionally damaged youngsters, I believe that every child derserves support and encouragement regardless of their circumstances.

For over 140 years Thomas Barnardo's charity has been helping children escape from and overcome all manner of setbacks. They support children who suffer from serious disabilities or live in poverty; protect those who suffer from domestic violence or abuse; council those who become young carers of sick, dissabled or drug-addicted parents. This is just the start.

Over 100,000 children benefit from their care and support each year.

At the moment I can run 6.5 miles in just under an hour. On October 9th I aim to make it round the 13.1 mile course in 2hr 20min (just under 6mph). I'll let you know how I get on.
