Story
On 22 June 2013, my team and I will be trekking a punishing 50 miles across the breathtaking Pennine hills. Setting off at 7am we have just 24 hours to complete the challenge, navigating our way throughout the route of almost 8,000 ft of ascents, the equivalent of climbing both Snowdon (3,560ft) and Ben Nevis (4,409ft) in one day.
We are raising money to support MedEquip4Kids, a children’s charity which provide specialist pediatric medical equipment and facilities for hospitals and community health teams. Their great work has improved the care received by children in need above what the NHS can offer.
They have helped fund many projects, including but not limited to:
- New Children’s A&E at Fairfield General Hospital (£55,800)
- ECG Machine for Stepping Hill Hospital (£10,200)
- Multisensory room for Wigan Infirmary (£14,000)
- Fetal Dopplers for Trafford General Hospital (£1,255)
- Portable suction pump for Werrington Clinic (£540.00)
I simply ask those in a position to donate, to pledge just as much as they can afford to help continue this charity's life changing work.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
