Story
I am walking the London Bridgathon on 23rd September to raise money for The Leukaemia and Lymphoma Unit at UCLH Hospital London.
The Leukaemia and Lymphoma Unit at UCLH Hospital London is a world centre of excellence in the treatment and care of patients over the age of 13 with leukaemia, lymphoma, and all other haematological disorders.
The UCLH Charity raises funds to improve the environment and experience for patients having treatment in the Unit. It purchases amenities, supports free complementary therapy for patients and families and where possible provide state-of-the-art equipment for the wards. The charity also funds postgraduate education to retain and develop the unit’s nurses in face of continued budget cuts
My dear friend Julia Thornton died suddenly of Leukaemia in January 2011 aged 46. Julia was very touched by the compassionate treatment she received during her brief stay at UCLH
Thanks for your support
