Cold water dip for MIND UK (22nd April- Aberavon beach)

I’ve been thinking about (and waiting for the sea to warm a bit😂) over the past few months, raising money for a charity close to my heart, this charity is MIND. Our grandmother, Jean Rees, lived during a time, that there was huge stigma around mental health. During the era that she lived, and the place she lived; a small valley town, mental health was simply un-talked about.
While my Grandmother was still with us, I was unaware of the battle she’d previously faced. I was aware, however, of the great deal of events, courses and support that she provided within the community, to help others who were struggling with their mental health. She did this for many years, overlooking stigma, and did this until her late 70’s, until health stopped her. I was unaware that she had started and founded such a charity and the extent of people she had a positive impact on, due to her humble personality and strength. Luckily, the past couple of years, there has been a huge increase in awareness of mental health and support. Everybody goes through periods of poor mental health and id like to plan some activities to help others and to raise money for the fantastic charity MIND- who support so many.
Let’s raise some money through a cold water dip, to carry on with the “Jean Rees Legacy”, to get friends and families involved, to push ourselves out of our comfort zones and raise money for an excellent cause. I’d love you to join❤️
