We provide respite and end of life care to make the most of short & precious lives
Story
My name is Jodie and I have always wanted to jump from a plane.
Like may people, the pandemic has had an impact on my mental health and wellbeing and, as part of my recovery, I have decided to set myself a goal to raise as much money as possible for an incredible charity that is very close to my heart, the Children's Hospice South West.
This charity is dedicated to providing hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. They provide respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care at their wonderful children's hospices; Little Bridge House in Devon, Charlton Farm in Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall.
Charlton Farm has provided the most wonderful care for a very special little boy in my life and his whole family and I have seen, first hand, what a difference this care, love and support has made.
In order for all three of these special children's hospices to continue to provide the help and care so desperately needed by children, they need funding and I am very proud to be playing a small part in this just to say a big 'thank you' for all the incredible work these hospices do, the difference they make and to raise as much money as I can to help them to keep helping children and their families during unimaginably difficult and, often heartbreaking, times.
As I mentioned above, a skydive is something I have always wanted to do. However, when it came to booking this, I realised that it is possible to want to do something whilst being terrified at the same time!
I know that, when the time comes for me to jump, there will be some interesting words coming out of my mouth and I am going to wonder how I ended up 15,000 feet in the air about to jump. I also know that this is the least I can do for this wonderful charity and, in some way, this is helping me to keep fighting my own battle.
Thank you for reading. Please share this far and wide and, if you are able to support by sponsoring me, that would be amazing and will help some wonderful children more than you will ever know!
Love, Jodie x
