Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Anyone that knows me, knows that I've had very long hair for a very long time & that I'm so fussy about who cuts my hair that I barely have it cut! I have decided to donate roughly 14" which means I will be left with about a chin length bob.
I hadn't actually thought about asking for donations, my initial intention was just to donate my hair and a small sum myself but after talking to friends, I have decided to set up this page so they too can donate to this worthwhile cause.
As many of you know, my mum passed away in August 2013. During her battle with Cancer, she underwent a period of both Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy, which caused her to lose her hair. I remember how heartbreaking it was to watch her remove clumps of her hair in handfuls, to see how upsetting it was for her & how it affected her confidence. This got me to thinking- how would this feel for a child?
Children's emotions run a lot higher than adults and having cancer is difficult enough for everyone concerned without coping with the hair loss. Little Princess Trust give, free of charge, every wig that is made of donated hair to a child suffering from hair loss. They also buy wigs for donation but these wigs cost the charity £350 each, which is why they also need funds.
