Story
"Jock's Journey" began back in March 2016 and we shared the journey with others via Facebook.
In February 2016, Jock was then diagnosed with a large metastatic brain tumour which was treated with whole brain radiotherapy, taking a daily immunotherapy drug ever since and undergoing further stereotactic targeted radiotherapy 2 years ago.
Through "Jock's Journey" we shared the experience to highlight and raise awareness of renal cancer symptoms and turned an unfortunate situation into a positive fundraising opportunity, reaching an amazing amount of over £26k for the TCCL Lodge in St Andrews for children with cancer and inspiring others with strength, courage and kindness along the way.

Sadly, Jock lost his 5 and a half year battle with the tumour on 31st March 2021, and passed away peacefully at the Adamson Hospital in Cupar with his family around him in his final days.
Jock had time to capture his wishes for his funeral service and in his memorial, he asked for family flowers only and that we accepted donations for The St Andrews Beach Wheelchairs to help support kids with disabilities.
If you would like to support this cause in Jock's memory, it would be very much appreciated.

Some background info on the charitable cause:
The St Andrews Beach Wheelchairs are now in their third season of operation. Due to Covid 19 we have been unable to open this year so far due to the restrictions. We have also been unable to hold our usual fundraising activities due to the pandemic. However this is all about to change as we are opening the scheme at the end of July and all will be able to enjoy our beaches again. In order to continue to offer this service we need to fundraise and we are launching our campaign here. The scheme puts a smile on everyone's faces as families are able to enjoy the beaches with their loved ones who may otherwise not have access to this wonderful boost to our physical and mental health of walking along the wonderful West Sands Beach in St Andrews. For many who have been sheltered this will be a wonderful opportunity to feel the freedom of the beach and the sea again. We hope that you feel you might be able to help support our reopening and ongoing operation.
