POST RACE UPDATE
As some of you are no doubt aware, mechanical failure meant that the bike leg could not be completed. 3 punctures in the first 26.5 miles and only 2 kits to repair lead to me running in, what I thought was 1.5miles, but actually turned out to be around 6miles.
However, I did run on to complete the half marathon as everyone has been so generous.
So I completed:
1.2mile swim
32.5 mile bike / run / cry
13.1 mile run
In 6hrs 20 minutes.
You can visit www.asiphoto.net to see some really bad photo's and me crossing the "finish line" looking none too chuffed. (BIB 487)
So - the next attempt takes place on Saturday 6th September in Rutland Park - just another couple of months of early mornings then...
Thanks for all your support .. so far, and apologies that I didn't have the insight to take more spare inner tubes!

I am embarking on the toughest ironman 70.3 in the world, on the 15th June, involving:
1.2mile swim
56 mile bike
13.1 mile run
70.3 miles in total
I've been training for about 16 weeks, and it has been pretty hard going, but hopefully it will be worth it at 3pm on Sunday 15th.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
