On January 25th I received a phone call from Marie Curie offering me the opportunity to run for them in the London Marathon. It took me less than 2 mins to say yes! 

Unfortunately, many of us have lost family or friends to terminal illness. It is an incredibly difficult time, but the support that charities like Marie Curie offer makes a difficult time much easier for those suffering, and also to their families. 

I lost a close family member to a terminal illness many years ago. It remains one of the most difficult times of my life, and the pain of my family during that time will always be raw. A friend who I ran the marathon with in 2016 also lost his fight with cancer just last year. He was one of the most inspirational people I have ever met. Those experiences make me want to do something to allow everyone who needs support from Marie Curie to be able to access it. This can only happen with our support.

One hour of nursing care costs £20, and it costs £5,500 to keep Maris Curie's nursing service running across the UK for one hour.
