My brother was a windsurfing instructor and loved the sport. We were very, very close but windsurfing was one of the only things we never did together because I was too scared. Standing on a board, falling off into cold water then trying to get dry in cold, windy conditions wasn't my idea of fun! I quite happily watched him and my dad and would help entertain children, do the bbq etc with my mum. Last year I watched the W4CR event with my brother. I was very happy standing with my hoody on collecting money in a big bucket. Matt was wishing he was well enough to get on the lake and do what he loved. I honestly thought, with all my heart, that this year he would be on the lake windsurfing raising money for this wonderful charity. Unfortunately this can't be. Therefore I have decided to take the plunge in his memory. As you can see from the photo's Matt and I have had fun in and near water in the past! Matt lived his life to the full and enjoyed every minute of it. He kept smiling through all the difficult times. He has been an inspiration to us all. I know with him looking down on me I can do anything. He wasn't scared of anything so now I have to face my fear and windsurf! This is for you bro, love your big sis xxxx
