5k, me, running ( walking) a 5k, most people that know me have now just gasped in shock! But I love my job, it's a privilege to be part of the fantastic team at Kindred so I thought I'd do it for the team. Kindred is a fantastic parent led organisation that have been based in Edinburgh's Children's hospital for 25 years, and I'm lucky to be part of that team. I know first hand what it takes to juggle home and work life as well as manage a child with a serious medical condition, juggling hospital appointments, admissions, medication and numerous medical professionals. . We help families to function when they need it most by reaching out to them sometimes in their darkest hour. Being by their side to listen, to help them understand information and to offer support, to advocate on their behalf or even to offer practical help with form filling. All of these small things make a massive difference when you are in turmoil. I know!
Myself and my sister ( and friends) are taking on the Pretty Muddy 5k on 16th Sept.
I know Kindreds service is worth its weight in gold so to continue to provide this valuable service at the new Children's hospital ( currently being built) we need to continue to raise funds. So (without laughing) think of me hobbling round a muddy assault course..... and if you've just had a flash back to Goldie Hawn in Private Benjamin, I suggest you double the amount you were originally going to give! .......Cheeky! 😜
