UHB Charity Sunrise Snowdon - 5 August 2023 · 5 August 2023 ·
UHB Charity works across four hospitals - the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital - to fund cutting edge equipment, world leading research and added extras that change and save lives and improve the hospital experience for the two million patients we treat every year. This year I am taking part in one of UHB Charity's Snowdon Challenges to support The Neuroendocrine Tumour Charity at QEHB.
Joanne kemp- Blake Clinical Nurse Specialist at QEHB and her supportive husband John-Paul Blake have decided to take on the daunting trek up Mount Snowdon… in the dark! The gruelling hiking event will see a climb of a steep 3,560 feet!
Joanne kemp-Blake joined the fantastic Neuroendocrine Tumour Team back in 2018. Prior to joining the team Joanne had previously climbed Mount Snowdon raising an incredible amount of money to support the Neuroendocrine Tumour Charity at QEHB (registered charity 1165716)
Sadly in 2018 the weather was very poor. Rain on the way up, and rain on the way down, it made it very challenging at times but it was still very rewarding. It would be great if myself and hubby could raise even more than I did back then. This year Joanne felt inspired to take on a new challenge with her husband John-Paul - to take on Sunrise Snowdon Challenge. Both Joanne and John -Paul set to conquer Mount Snowdon overnight, reaching the summit as the sun rises!Joanne intends to fundraise in order to enable the Neuroendocrine Tumour Team to continue their excellent support to the service improving patient care. I hope you can spare however much is possible to help this great cause. Thank you for your support!
