Story
CHUMS hopes to provide mental health and emotional wellbeing support to as many children and young people across Bedfordshire as we can.
Two years ago this month, my life changed from the happiest I’d ever known to the saddest with pain that I would not wish on anyone. My life and my boys won’t be the same again. Grief is unique to each person that experiences a loss but the Bedfordshire Suicide Bereavement Service run by CHUMS and the people I have met through them have been a tremendous support.
The BSBS supports adults and children through this terrible time and they were able to offer guidance after John’s death for Cameron and Harrison, giving advice but letting you decide what’s best for your children. Cameron and Harrison have definitely been helped to cope with life and how things have changed.
CHUMS have always been there whenever I have asked for help and that’s priceless however BSBS is a charity and like so many others they need money to carry on their great work, sadly for the many who will need the service in the future. So for this reason I have decided to try and give something back.
What to do though?? I’ve been in aviation for over 20 years normally on the inside of an aircraft but this time I have decided to try the less luxurious seats!! On 3rd June I will be Wing Walking, hopefully still securely strapped on….
I am doing this in the memory of the love of my life who was always full of fun and spontaneity. Although as he hated heights I’m not sure he would have signed up for this one and would probably think I was mad!!
So please come along and give me your support if you don’t already have plans, if not, any donations towards this amazing charity would be well appreciated.
