London to Brighton Bike Ride 2014 · 15 June 2014 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
When asked if I would to join this team bike ride, and what I consider to be a loooong bike ride, I had serious doubts about my ability to complete the 54 miles! Did I have the strength, stamina or mind set?? BUT several training rides down the line, with my riding buddy Rachel, ... & after experiencing bumps and bruises, punctures and chain breaks, I'm now excited about it, rather than nervous, having caught the buzz of the bike .... and have even ticked the box of hurtling over the handle-bars!!! ;)
In my profession I see thousands of people suffering from heart conditions and see the adverse effect it has on their life, as well as the negative impact it has on their loved ones. It is not only the old or the overweight who suffer, it can affect the young and the fit ... just look at the marathon runners who have sadly and shockingly died in recent years!
By doing this ride, I am not only hoping to promote the message that activity is key to a healthy heart, but would also like to raise money to help the British Heart Foundation research into preventing heart disease and would be immensly grateful for any donation recieved ... even £1 can help! It easy to do! We all deserve a healthy ticker!!
My lost loved ones will keep me going ... hopefully more so when it comes to Ditchling Beacon!!! xxx
