Story
60 miles and 60 years... I walked the former with dear friends Chris and Annie along the heritage Ceredigion Coast in Wales in the week after Easter, and will reach the latter on May 20th. The views were amazing, we hardly met anyone and had terrific weather except for one day, when it rained. To see the mud we had to contend with, look at the photos!
If you have already given to my cause, thank you so very much. You may be interested to know where your donation is going, as follows:
£5 pays for 25 copies of When does the local authority pay for care? – one of the Society’s most requested information sheets
£5 supports 17 carers through the challenges of looking after a loved one with the monthly Living With Dementia magazine..
£10 pays for an advisor on the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Helpline to receive monthly training
£20 enables them to recruit one volunteer who will be vital in helping the Society deliver its services.
£45 funds one Alzheimer’s Society outreach worker to visit two people with dementia at home.
If you have yet to donate to this worthy cause, I would be most grateful. Simply follow the 'donate now' instructions. It would be a wonderful birthday present for me, to know that your generosity went to help sufferers of dementia.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are quite safe – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send it directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. So I would really appreciate anything you can manage to give, however small.
Thank you!
Jo
