The Spinal Circuit encourages you to walk, run, wheel, or cycle as one big Back Up team. We're challenging you to help us complete as many circuits around all 11 spinal units in the UK - 1,799km - as possible before Spinal Cord Injury awareness Day.

Story

40km may not sound much in comparison to other people’s goals but then I am sadly no longer young or fit. I usually use a power chair for all but the smoothest surfaces outdoors but will be doing this challenge in my manual chair on farm tracks. I had a practice today and have blisters and aches already 😂  I’d be so grateful for your support!

#BackUp #SpinalCircuit #GoTheSocialDistanceBack Up services rely on events and challenge fundraising and the global COVID-19 health crisis has left us rapidly adapting our work whilst facing a dramatic loss of income. Over the next three months, 540 people will sustain a spinal cord injury, at a time when health services will be pushed to their limits. They will be frightened, and in need of support from people who understand the challenges they are facing. We need to get through this and come out stronger on the other side. People affected by spinal cord injury need Back Up to still exist in 2021. The COVID-19 crisis does not stop six people from sustaining a spinal cord injury every day and you can help us to ensure they will have access to our courses, mentoring, and support back to the workplace and education.https://www.backuptrust.org.uk/get-involved/challenge-yourself/spinal-circuit
