Story
I have signed up to do my first Ultra Marathon in February 2022. It is 70km (42 miles) from Brecon to Cardiff. I would love it if you could help me along the way with a donation to Ty Hafan.
I did a marathon many many years ago and swore I would never do anywhere that distance again. It was brutal, and I was way younger then! I kept that promise and never did long distance. Until recently when I signed up for my first Ultra. I'm still not sure why I signed up - it sounded good at the time!
42 miles if I was constantly running would take me around 7 hours. But I will be running slower, will need to change shoes, re-fuel on the route and may have to walk if I get injured. I need to bear in mind that it will be February and it is likely to rain on me. Constantly. The cut off is 12 hours. I will be starting in the dark and finishing in the dark. And I'm really rubbish at following directions and signs.
So if I need to put myself through this much pain it has to be for a good cause. Ty Hafan are an amazing hospice based in South Wales. They provide care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. They provide opportunities for families to make cherished memories and make every day count. The work they do is invaluable and absolutely needed.
Ty Hafan need to raise £4.5million to meet their costs each year. I would love if we could help them a little.
Thank you for your donation.
