Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On June 2nd and 3rd, I will be attempting to walk a massive 40 miles of the South West Coast Path to raise money for the Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington, where I am still a trustee. I've volunteered to be a "walk buddy" to Mike Denny, our Director of Fundraising, who is walking the whole of the 670 miles from Minehead to Lymington over 34 days.
My two days are from Tintagel to Padstow (21 miles) and Padstow to Magwan Porth (19 miles) - are described as challenging with particularly steep ascents and descents! Charles will be driving the back-up vehicle for us.
My aim is to raise at least £1,000 towards Mike's overall goal of £45,000 to enable us to continue providing the specialist palliative care, free of charge throughout the New Forest. Our annual operating costs are now in the region of £3 million, of which just 13% is NHS funded. So fundraising initiatives are crucial.
Thank you so much for your sponsorship - even the smallest amount will be so appreciated. If you would rather send a cheque, please make it out to Oakhaven Hospice Trust.
