We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Thank you for making time to visit the "JustGiving" page I have set up to raise money for Alzheimer's Society in Suffolk.

As Chairman of Suffolk County Council this year I have nominated Alzheimers to be my official charity.

To launch my support for them I have agreed to take part in the GREAT EAST SWIM on Saturday 26th September.  I will join over 2000 others (including international swimming stars) to swim ONE MILE on Alton Water near Ipswich.  For me this is quite a challenge and I am now trying to get fit and swimming every day to make sure the right muscles are working on the day

I hope you will be impressed by the photo showing Sebastian Coe offering me some olympic tips during a swimming clinic held in Bury St Edmunds to promote Suffolk's planning for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Supporting me through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Alzheimers and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for Alzheimers.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
