Craig will be running the Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 25th April to raise money for the Robin Paediatric Neurology Ward at the John Radcliffe Children's Hospital in Oxford on behalf of our 6 year old daughter Amelia.
Amelia was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension back in March 2008 a rare neurological condition that effects roughly 1 in 100,000. The condition mainly effects women of a child bearing age so to have it as a child is extremely rare.
Unfortunately Amelia has encountered a number of problems with the illness over the past two years and has had to have a number of operations, a stay in High Dependency Unit and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. Her latest two operations included a Cranial Expansion and a insert of a Ventricular-Atrial Shunt which is a shunt that goes from her brain to her heart.
All of this wouldn't of been possible without everyone who works on the Robins Ward at the John Radcliffe Children's Hospital in Oxford and we would like to say thank you to them by raising as much money as we can too buy equipment for the ward that will help children like Amelia
Thank you from Jo Craig and Amelia
