Update - new ‘Swim for Shine’ date - Saturday 25th evening at Divers Cove ‘Night Swim’ 

These amazing 3 girls have overcome so many challenges over the last few months. They first put their wetsuits on and got into the freezing cold lake in May (and it was mighty cold!!) . They quickly built their endurance over the next few weeks ready for the Great East Swim in Suffolk - which got cancelled at the last minute due to toxic algae (yes best avoided!). They didn’t let that stop them - they carried on putting those wetsuits on most weeks preparing for the rescheduled Great East Swim in September. Only to come across another stumbling block - it got cancelled again! (Yes the algae was back!). Back to the drawing board …. what could they do ? …. How could they challenge themselves? …..

These amazing young ladies have bravely decided to do an open water NIGHT swim at Divers Cove in Godstone. Not content to just settle for swimming in the open water during the day …. These 3 girls are going to swim round the former quarry at night! They’ll have glow sticks to guide them as the sun sets on the lake at Divers Cove in Godstone this Saturday evening.

We want to help support Finley’s initiative  ‘Swim for Shine’ to raise awareness and funding to help continue supporting people living with spina bifida & hydrocephalus.  His nephew Harrison was born last year with Spina Bifida and he wanted to do something to give back to Shine combined with his love of swimming.
