Beaumond House Hospice Care is a registered charity committed to providing supportive palliative care to patients and their families living in Newark and Sherwood. Outstanding hospice care, enabling our local communities to live well and die well.

Story

On Tuesday 16th July 2019, Christine lost her fight with Pancreatic Cancer. Beaumond House Hospice is one of the amazing charities we’re collecting funeral donations for.

Mum was a headstrong woman and always liked things “her way” so you can imagine her frustration when she became ill and couldn’t do things for herself anymore.

Towards the end it was too much for my Dad to solely look after mum, she was in a lot of pain and needed support day and night. That’s where Beaumond House came in, they were incredible.

Although mum never actually stayed in Beaumond House, the staff would come and see her nearly every single day. Offering her support with practical things like having a bath, doing her make up, giving her tablets. But what was even more valuable was the emotional support they gave to mum in some of her darkest days.

As a family we cannot thank staff enough for what they did to care for mum in her final months❤️
