Story
Growing up, I've always had very long hair. I was often referred to as Rapunzel and my Mum only let me cut it when it got so long I could sit on it. (not exactly hygienic as a potty training toddler)
I've made a surprisingly difficult decision and on the 14th April I will be cutting my hair off and donating it to The Little Princess Trust.
The Little Princess Trust use donated hair to make wigs for little girls and boys that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses. If my hair puts a smile on the face of a suffering child then I think they deserve it more than me.
For the record - I will NOT be shaving my head. However, my hair will be getting drastically shorter, most likely a jaw length bob.
Not everyone has long locks that they're able to donate, and I've therefore decided to use this as an opportunity to raise money for The Little Princess Trust. They not only supply free of charge wigs (that cost in excess of £300 per wig if not made by donation) but they're also involved in funding the research of the causes of childhood cancers and into minimising the effects of chemotherapy in children.
I've included a bit of information about how The Little Princess Trust came about below, but please visit their website if you'd like to learn more.

The Little Princess Trust was launched in 2006 by parents of Hannah Tarplee, along with help from friends and from Hannah's school, Hereford Cathedral Junior School.
Hannah was the original Little Princess. Sadly she was diagnosed with having a Wilms tumour and after a brave battle, died in 2005.
At that time, finding high quality wigs for children was very difficult and only after a long search was a suitable company eventually found which made a wig for Hannah. She very much enjoyed wearing her wig, particularly on special occasions.
After Hannah passed away, so many kind people offered help, financial and practical. Hannah's parents, Wendy and Simon decided that the most fitting way to use this help was to launch a charity dedicated to providing specialist real hair children's wigs. Like so many Little Princesses, Hannah loved her hair and losing it was very traumatic.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and thank you to all who are contributing! I nervously look forward to showing you the new look and the length of hair that I donate.
