Kelan Watson (11 years old) Kelan and his mom, Adrianne, moved to Bloomington-Normal from Chicago in search of better opportunities. Kelan had previously attended a Boys & Girls Club up north and they both wanted him to find that same kind of supportive environment locally. He joined the Club at the beginning of this school year and has thrived both socially as well as educationally at the Club. Since he arrived at the Club, Kelan has stepped out of his comfort zone and truly has begun to discover who he is. He has found that he loves comic books, not only reading them but writing them as well. He is finishing up the third book in a series of stories about two brothers spanning from their youth to their childrens youth. Kelan is also working on writing lyrics for a song he and a friend plan to perform at our bi-annual talent show! Kelans story is like that of many of our kids here at the Boys & Girls Club.
