Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.
On the 19th June, I am taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride, which is a distance of 54 miles. I've been training for this for the past six months or so, but I suspect that it will mostly be powered by diet coke, cake and graditute at being alive.
This particular event was something that I'd always quite fancied having a go at, having seen the finish line 20 years or so ago. However, it's been the events of the past couple of years that have inspired me to seize the moment and sign up.
When I got my diagnosis back in July 2020, the BHF website was the first place I looked at for reliable information about what was actually wrong with me. Over the following few months, I made numerous calls to the wonderful Cardiac Nurses on the Heart Helpline who always took the time to explain things to me, give me advice and just listen when I needed to talk.
I hadn't appreciated my good health until something went wrong, and the reassurance from the Nurses that I would be able to go back to my job, my hobbies and travelling again was so important to me.
I will forever be grateful, so I am hoping to raise a nice sum of money so that others can be helped in the future.
I would really appreciate it if you are able to donate a couple of quid to sponsor me, as I attempt to shift my rather large lycra clad arse up several big hills towards the coast.
Thank you so much for reading.
