Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At the end of July I'm going to be attempting to climb the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales - that's Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - all within 24 hours. That includes the driving in between, as well as the walking up and down!
I'll be doing this for Dementia UK, a charity that provides support and care for some of the 850,000 people in the UK who suffer from Alzheimer's or another type of dementia. This cruel and devastating condition is on the rise, with numbers set to hit one million by 2025.
Happily, I won't be doing this on my own! (Not least because I have no sense of direction and cannot drive, two factors which would decimate my chances of success..) I'm joining a group from my fitness studio, Greenwich Training, because a) they're lovely people, b) they're used to seeing me sweat, and c) I figure some of the trainers are so healthy they may be able to carry me the last few miles.
Hopefully, that won't be necessary. I'm training as hard as I can, running hill sprints in Greenwich Park and completing a half marathon every week. Feel free to keep an eye on my progress on Strava: https://www.strava.com/athletes/22332491
