Story
Those who know me well, or have known me a long time know I've been running consistently since I was 14... I've never really had the confidence or belief in myself to join a running club or enter many races... albeit I have been entering the London Marathon ballot for years and years..That all changed when I joined my amazing running club The Billericay Striders and gained so much confidence.
So I am embarking on this extraordinary challenge, one that in all my years of running I have never yet attempted, I am nervous and excited about what lies ahead, but I am overjoyed to be able to run for a cause that I really believe in and I will be joining Wooden Spoon, the children's charity of rugby , which is again close to my heart, in their mission to positively transform the lives of children and young people with a disability, illness or facing disadvantage across the UK and Ireland.
Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby, funding life-changing projects across the UK and Ireland to support children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage. Research shows that 1 in 10 children in the UK and Ireland have a disability and there are 3.5 million children in the UK living in poverty. These numbers continue to rise and more and more children need our help. Our vision is that through the power of rugby, every child and young person has access to the same opportunities.
I would be so grateful for any support and sponsorship for this amazing cause. Thank you.
Jo
