Fundraising for Newcastle Hospitals Charity

Inspired by Cptn Tom we want to raise funds for Ward 1 Freeman Hospital. Here's the reason behind it:
Our mam, Teresa Witheridge will be 90 in October. 10 years ago just before our dad died, mam had an operation to put a stent into her ureter as she was assessed as not being strong enough for an operation on her kidney. This was carried out at Freeman Hospital Ward 1. Since then mam has had 31 stent changes the 31st was on Tuesday 12th May. Mam has numerous medical conditions including scoliosis, spondylosis, osteoporosis, diverticulitis, she has a heart murmer, is allergic to penicillin and she has 2 false hips.
She manages to walk down her garden path at least 3 times every day. Her garden is small and she does 24 steps from door to gate.
I'm one of her 4 daughters and we are so proud of her and amazed by her strength. We've nearly lost her a few times but she always fights back. She is an inspiration to us and her 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
It would mean so much to her, and to us, to give back to the ward who have done so much for her. She thinks so highly of the staff, they are all so lovely and make her stay bearable. This time, more so than ever, the staff were there for her and, as always, kept her safe. Please donate whatever you can, it will be so much appreciated.
