Story
Thank you for taking the time to read my page . . . . . . . .
My little boy Paul Goodger was diagnosed with an in-operable
brain tumour, aged 8. He died aged 12 in ACORNS, Selly Oak. ACORNS and their volunteers supported us as a whole family throughout those 4 years, and following Paul’s death. Paul went from cradle to coffin in 12 short years, I was not expecting to arrange a funeral for my own son.
It would be under-stating it to say, that without ACORNS and the Volunteers, we would not be where we all are today. Paul was the eldest of 4 boys and has 3 sisters.
I have 3 healthy grandchildren who thankfully do not need the services of ACORNS, but other children still do. I now want to give back to ACORNS, in their 30th year, in what would have been Paul’s 35th year. At 62 next birthday myself, and a grandmother of 3, I am not fit and will need to train hard for this challenge. I will do it with your help and support in memory of Paul, a brave and inspirational child.
Paul George Goodger

Paul’s memory alive.
