Story
Thank you for visiting my page. I've chosen to complete the Step into Spring challenge, doing 100 miles in 30 days for Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
Walking in support of an incredibly brave and inspirational friend of more 30 years who was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma in 2016. Lou has always had a 'can do' approach to life and as the amazing human that she is, she smashed the challenge last year, clocking up an impressive 127 miles and that was with having two rounds of chemo in that month!
This year we are 'Lou's Walking Warriors' our team consists of Lou, Mel, Gail, Ally and I who all studied at college together back in the 90's. Lou is receiving palliative care and on a constant three week chemo cycle, typically again two rounds fall within the month of April so she has to get her steps in on her good days!
If you could spare some time and walk with me, sponsor me/us and help raise awareness of Sarcoma we'd really appreciate it.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care. Your donations go so far in helping the sarcoma community: £1 Could cover the cost of 10 texts to the support line. £10 Could be used to buy microscope slides to look at cells in minute detail. £30 Could fund one hour of use of a high-powered laboratory microscope. £150 Could fund the support line for a week.Thank you for your support.
