Story

Breast Cancer Now urgently need your help to fund world-class research and life-changing care. By supporting Afternoon Tea this summer, you'll be raising the money they need to provide support for today and hope for the future.

Last December my world changed in a second....that dreaded word!! Having felt a lump in my breast I went straight to the doctors, no concerns over my health, GP thought it felt like a cyst but went through the referral process. I honestly didn't worry about it & just carried on until my appointment came, 13th December, Bromsgrove. Even on the day I wasn't worried, me & my Mary Poppins outlook on life just didn't think anything would be wrong.

Stage 2 Breast Cancer confirmed, no spread to lymph nodes, surgery end Jan for lumpectomy & sentinel lymph node removal, further surgery 3 weeks after to remove pre cancerous cells, thankfully no chemo but radiotherapy was a bitch!  Not going to lie, didn't think it would affect me so much.

My daughters, my mom & dad, my family & my friends have been amazing. Dad was my permanent taxi to every appointment & Mom was always there when I needed her. Those who know me know how positive I am & I must admit I have just got on with things.....thats just me! Of course I have cried but I never stayed there, I know there are so many more men & women going through this & much much worse so if this fundraiser helps just 1 person & their family then I will be happy.

6 months on from my diagnosis I am adjusting to listening to my body way more than I did & life now has a new purpose xxx

SAVE THE DATE......27th & 28th August .......Combining our family love of walking & cake what better way to raise funds than to have the men complete a 36 mile overnight walk on The Worcestershire Way & taking in the whole of the Malvern Hills, finishing off at my house for well deserved refreshments & soaking of feet x You are welcome at my house throughout the day on Sunday to come & have a cuppa & cake, lots of other little goodies available too xx

I will be making a separate donation to Worcestershire Breast Haven Unit so please let me know if you would rather do this.....its my way of giving back & saying thank you for all the amazing people who got me through all my treatment xx
