Story
So after saying I would never run another marathon, loosing several stone and then putting most of it back on again I find myself training to run LONDON 2022!
BUT these 26.2 miles are NOT about me… I’m training to run 26.2 miles to raise awareness and money for PLANETS charity, its drs, research teams and patients in memory of my Uncle Mick who lost his 17 year battle with cancer last year.
PLANETS and the founding team do extraordinary work that really makes a positive difference to people lives.
All I have to do is get round those 26.2 miles and raise as much money as I can in the process!
This is an epic challenge, the training involved is time consuming on top of everyday life, but I’m determined to get round, and do the very best I can. Whilst I have run in the past When I found out I had a place I was not running and couldn’t cover 5k without stopping.
To help get motivated and round I’m dedicating and running a mile for 26 different people that have passed away from Pancreatic or liver cancer or who are associated with the PLANETS charity, drs, surgeons, nurses, and patients some who are still with us and some who have sadly left us.
Through my fundraising and blog on Facebook I’ll be telling the inspirational stories of the people who supported uncle Mick, had cancer alongside him and who he has left behind. Making you aware of the care and work that goes into supporting someone with long term cancer, and how the money raised makes a difference in terms of the advances in research, equipment and treatment options now available… things are changing and improving all the time and we must never give up hope that we can and will find a cure!
So please sponsor me and give what you can and follow my journey as I shine a light on peoples real life stories… it’s gonna be emotional!
BIG LOVE
