Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
This year, I am running the Virgin London marathon for personal reasons. Back in July 2008, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer following a routine screening test. Thankfully, the cancer was caught early and after treatment, I am now on the road to recovery.
My dear friend Dave lost his battle with cancer on 28th November 2009. A truly inspirational man who was so positive and full of life. He was the person who introduced me to running back in 2003 and this race will be dedicated in memory of him. An emotional day it will be and he will be in my thoughts throughout the 26.2 mile route.
I am encouraging everyone to help me raise money for research into the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer by sponsoring me, no matter how small. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I am really looking forward to the day and proud to be running for Cancer Research UK!
