As a child I remember working out how old I would be in the millenium and thinking “God that’s ancient!” . But here I am - middle aged. Reaching this milestone leads to reflection. I’m so grateful that I’ve been blessed with many happy memories of family and friends.

This year a great friend of mine, Clare Turner, passed away. She would have been 50 this year too and I never imagined celebrating my 50th without my outrageous friend.

So for my 50th, rather than buying me a present, I’d be grateful if we could remember Clare by making a donation to the Meningitis Trust, a charity very close to her heart
