Story
I'm fundraising for Street Child World Cup, a charity that supports and empowers street children across the world using football, art and campaigning.
In March I'm volunteering at the second ever Street Child World Cup where 250 street children from 19 countries will come together in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to challenge the negative perceptions and treatment of street children across the world.
The children taking part don't have identities, passports or paperwork, they are regarded as 'nobodies' by society. Street Child World Cup works alongside these children empowering them as positive role models and ambassadors for those still on the streets, making it impossible for governments and policy-makers to marginalise the vulnerable, instead challenging them to take responsibility and support them.
I will be working in the communications team, making sure that the whole world hears the voices of the street children. As a volunteer I need your help, I need to raise a minimum £1000 to ensure Street Child World Cup has the resources and equipment needed to spread the message from Rio.
Please sponsor me, every penny will make a difference,
Thank you,
Jo-Jo.
