As midnight marked the end of 2016, I reflected on what an exceptional year it had been and waited in eager anticipation at what 2017 would bring. Little could I have anticipated or even comprehended of the journey I was already on.
A journey of: medical tests, uncertainty, increasing disability, disbelief, change of roles and family struggle. A journey which now has a confirmed diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease.
From the moment I asked for help Woking Hospice has been exceptional; in the speed with which they responded to me, in the depth of their compassion as they care for me, in the quality of the environment with which they surround me- and the yumminess of the cakes they bake for me! It is something for which I will be eternally grateful. However, gratitude on its own doesn't feel enough for me, as it isn't very: helpful, purposeful or change-inducing. All these things are very important to me, so fundraising for the hospice is the perfect way for me to show my gratitude, my way. With help from the people who are important to me: my family, friends, work colleagues and local community. As fundraising projects are ready I will update my page. Thank you for reading and your support.
