Story

Welcome to my London Marathon fundraising page.

I’ve trained hard for this marathon, and had way too many unplanned life stresses along the way (typical huh!) but as much as I’ve put hard work in, annoyingly I’ve managed to tear my right calf along the way. It’s had niggles from the very start of training but in the last few weeks it’s been particularly bad.

As many know, my right side of my body is much weaker as a result of the Haemorrhagic Stroke I survived in 2008 and therefore I am prone to injury on my right side.

Stroke has never stopped me doing anything, so I’ll hobble around that marathon if I have to!  I WILL do this marathon!

I hadn’t planned to fundraise however had always planned to proudly wear my Stroke Association top when training and running, simply to raise awareness.

Money is tight for everyone at the moment so I didn’t feel right in asking for donations. However quite a few people have asked how they can donate… so here we are! I have no target and no obligation to fundraise so please do not feel any pressure to donate.

Thank you xx Jo

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. That's because a stroke happens in the brain, the control centre for who we are and what we can do. It happens every five minutes in the UK and changes lives instantly. The Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. And it’s a team effort to get there.Their specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community and the generosity of amazing people like you.
