I know that this year has been tough for us all but for some children, it has been tough for a while. 

Dreamflight is a UK charity that takes 192 kids with life a threatening illness or disability on a holiday of a lifetime to Orlando.  Dreamflight is not just a holiday though; it does something that medicine can’t. The children get the opportunity to discover independence, confidence, and a whole new outlook on life. Often for the first time, they realise that they are not the odd one out. They gain perspective and experience things that they never thought possible.

As some of you know, I was fortunate enough to be part of the Dreamflight volunteer staff in 2019, and was due to go again in 2020 before Covid struck. I have seen first hand the unforgettable time that these children have and what a difference it makes to their lives when they come home.

A group of us have set ourselves the challenge of collectively walking, running, swimming, cycling and skiing our way (virtually) around the globe. We are each setting an individual challenge to complete over the month of February. As well as aiming to achieve 10,000 steps per day, I will be walking an additional 100km over the month. Mum, who is still recovering from multiple knee operations, is going to cycle 100km on her static bike- a pretty impressive goal!

I know times are tough right now but any support you can give really will be changing the lives of 192 children!
