Story

I am very lucky to have two beautiful sons. What many people don't know, however, is that they are both rainbow babies (born after a loss) and that there were 4 babies that I sadly never got to meet. My first pregnancy ended with an early miscarriage but I then, fortunately, went on to have my first son. My next 3 pregnancies also sadly ended in loss, all throughout the Covid pandemic and over the course of 10 months. After the second of these, I got in touch with Tommy's and was contacted by one of their wonderful midwives, Sophie. She not only provided a wealth of information on miscarriage but gave me lots of support. While I was having my 4th miscarriage, Sophie was also there to provide advice, as the hospital were unable to see me for a few days. She then encouraged me to see my GP for tests, but it was whilst waiting for a scan that we realised we were expecting our miracle baby. Sophie was once again there to provide support during the most anxious of times and, somehow, we had our second son.

I'm proud to be joining Team Tommy's in the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2023 to support Tommy's and continue their vital work saving babies' lives. Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. They believe it is unacceptable that one in four women lose a baby during pregnancy and birth. They want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies. Please support me to take on the 13.1 miles of the London Landmarks Half Marathon. To give you an idea of the impact of your donation: £10 could buy a thermometer to help doctors at the Tommys miscarriage research centre predict ovulation. £100 could pay for a blood pressure monitor at the Tommys miscarriage research centre. £350 could fund a Tommy's midwife for a day on our pregnancy line giving specialist pregnancy advice and support.Thank you so much for your support!
