Story

Im doing this for my baby Coco!

Cole is such a strong, determined, brave little boy if he can overcome all that he has, me giving up chocolate for a month should be easy!

Cole has was born with Complete Heart Block and had open heart surgery at 5 days old, to have a pacemaker fitted.

When he was 4, he developed heart failure. He had his 2nd open heart surgery a week after his 5th birthday, to have a replacement pacemaker.

Cole is now 8, he'll celebrate his 9th birthday during my "Dechox". His health has improved more than we could have hoped for, he has recovered from heart failure and his heart is functioning within normal range - he's our heart hero!

Cole never complains about having a pacemaker, having check ups or taking his medicine. He makes the whole situation so much easier for us, he's amazing.

Giving up chocolate is the stuff my nightmares are made of! However, the British Heart Foundation is such an important charity  and the research they carry out could change Coles and other children's lives for the better in the future.

Thanks for your support!

The pandemic is the biggest challenge we've faced in our 60 year history. And it's led to us being forced to make the devastating decision to cut our 2020 research budget in half. So the truth is, we've never needed people like you more. Virtual fundraising challenges like Dechox are a way to help us keep up the pace of progress. Your willpower will be funnelled into ground-breaking science and support for the people who need us most.Because despite everything else happening at the moment, heart and circulatory diseases are still the world's biggest killers. For the sake of our mums and dads, brothers and sisters, grandparents and friends - we can't drop the ball now.
