Story

Each and Every Day we all face Challenges in our own worlds and lives', these Challenges and the way we react to them will ultimately define who we become in the future.

As a young man I learned the hard way, one day I will tell this story in full, but ultimately I have always been gifted with my Health, and a supportive group of family and friends who I could lean on in times of hardship, luckily for me the hardship was mostly self inflicted and trivial in comparison to some, which I am truly thankful for!

Charity is a word that is used to often, but what is true Charity?
The Teesside Family foundation is a true charity, Why?
Their are no employees and it is supported by amazing volunteers all from our local area, with the sole intention to help people in need.

The words,  'Charity starts at home', is something I have heard a lot over the Years, and I believe it truly does.
Teesside is my Home and within it are some amazing people & business's, but we also have some whom are less fortunate, within us all is the ability to help another and to be nice, some times this isn't all about donating this could be giving up some of your time at Christmas to wrap presents or to go and work in a homeless shelter for a day, or even giving a person a chance when others would not

The Objective for me this year is to push the limits of not only my own abilities, but the Team at JMAC, to see what difference we can make in our community and industry by thinking and being different!

I am going to lead from the front with a very difficult task,  Summiting Two Mountains in the Himalayas , namely Mera Peak at 6,476m - 21,247 ft, & Island Peak at 6160m (20,210ft). I will be navigating seracs and large crevasses , moving alpine style along an intriguing  ridges and glaciers to summit.

To put this into perspective these are higher than the highest peaks / Mountains in Europe , Africa , North Pole and South Pole. (4 of the 7 continents on earth), and sit opposite Mount Everest!

Temperatures can drop to as low as - 40 degrees and we will be living in tents for most of the trip while we travel between peaks, i am expecting it to be the most challenging experience of my life to date , but again nothing compared to the hardship some of the kids and families are facing in Teesside today.

So I'm asking you to put your hand in your pocket or even to sacrifice a little time if that's all you can do and help this amazing Charity to help families and Children suffering of critical illness's in our local area,

This is 100% funded by myself and all funds will go to this amazing  Charity, we will then personally choose where every pound goes and keep you all updated on where it goes and who we have all Helped through our endeavours.

Support Local, this isn't just about Teesside we should and need to be doing this across the UK
Thank you,
Luis x
