Story
One of my best friends, Steve Sellers, suddenly passed away in February 2022 after a major cardiac event. He collapsed at the side of the road and in a flash, he was gone. Steve wasn't just one of my best friends he was the same to many other people who he worked with, supported, loved and cared for. As CEO of Computappoint he helped so many people in their careers through good times and not-so-good. He was a treasure that will stay in our memories forever.
Twenty years ago, my Mum, Valerie Lloyd, also left this world unexpectedly from heart failure and heart disease. So, in memory of her, Steve, and all the others who could be saved and supported by more funding for the British Heart Foundation, please support this fundraising event of 61 miles off-road cycling and 4,250ft of uphill slog!
BHF's vision is a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. They raise money to research cures and treatments, so they can beat heartbreak forever. Find out more about what they do here: https://www.bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/who-we-are. They have helped improve and save the lives of many people with heart and circulatory diseases. But these conditions still affect millions of families. With the BHF London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride (Europe's biggest charity mountain bike event), I hope to raise funds so BHF can take on the challenges in the research of heart and circulatory diseases.
I shall be riding with another long-time friend, Tony Nash - someone else Steve helped. If the technology works, on the day of the ride, I plan to post a link here so that you can track our progress through the course of the day, so keep the URL handy!
