Story
I’m not a runner but did my first charity run in my twenties and now many years later I am doing possibly my last by running in the Glasgow Great Scottish Run. There are many good causes and charities that need to be supported but I have chosen the charity Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Association (PSPA).
PSP has affected my family and we all saw how cruel it was
by slowly taking away the abilities to move and talk trapping the fully aware patient in a body that doesn’t possess the signals to make it move. The final stage is the inability to swallow.
My reason for running was the encouragement of my wife and
work colleagues. My aim is to finish the run and my goal is to raise as much money for the charity as you allow me to. This will contribute towards helping the charity to support patients, their families and further research in the treatments working towards a cure.
