Story
A friend of mine (rach) thought that running the london marathon would be a great way to spend a weekend, I considered this (after a beer or two) and agreed.
Then I got thinking.
What would make me WANT to run 26.2 miles? Nothing. What would MAKE me run 26.2 miles?
The thought that my effort would benefit stray and unwanted dogs in the UK.
There are loads of charities out there, I get that, however to train and complete this i need to be passionate and want to achieve my goal to the best of my abilities and therefore need to run for a charity I love.
I have been to the dogs trust, have seen the dogs that have been part of a family and then have been surrenderd or taken by the authorities for their safety and have no idea why. I have seen them sat waiting for someone to take them home and it's heart breaking.
I have 4 pooches of my own, I know there is no way I could be without them and that they couldn't be without me, I know they see me as family and i would do anything for them. We are lucky. By completing the marathon and raising some money for dogs trust I hope I can help them to rehome the thousands of dogs needing a forever home and forever family to change their lives.
I also hope the training gets rid of my muffin top and gives me abs of steel 😁
